Reader's Journal
I personally really enjoyed this novel. I was introduced to it in a bit of a wired way so I'll just tell the short version. I was in the car and my parents were listening to a book called Michael Bennett, and I immediately became engrossed. It wasn't until the book was over that I realized it was actually something like the sixth book in the series and right away I new I had to find the first book. When I finally found it and began reading it, I was hooked from page one. James Patterson has always been my favorite author so I knew the book would be good, but Ledwidge just adds something fresh and enjoyable to the writing style. The plot is just so well developed that it seems like this could have happened in real life. The characters and setting are also very lifelike and so well developed that they seem like they could be real as well. By the end of the book, I felt like I had known Michael Bennett for several years, and I finished reading the book in just three weeks. One of the other things that I liked about the book is that Michael Bennet never gave up, and I like how that was sort of one of the messages that was found so often throughout the book that it encouraged me to also never give up. To recap, this book had me hooked from page one all the way through page 383 and often times I didn't want to put it down. It was filled with so much action and emotion on every single page that I felt at times that I was actually in book myself. I definitely, without a doubt, enjoyed the book and I can wait to read the next book and all the books that follow in the series.
